SPICE JOURNEY From Morocco, Malta and Andalucia in the west, to Turkey, Lebanon and Iran in the East, the food and flavours of the Middle East permeate almost every aspect of daily life. Award winning Maltese-Australian chef Shane Delia has journeyed to both the well-trodden souks and private dining rooms of locals across six countries in the Middle East, in search of the most authentic local recipes to bring back to his kitchen.

In his new cookbook Spice Journey, Shane offers his favourite middle eastern recipes distilled from his travels and recreated for the home cook. Learn to make cracked wheat and tomato kibbeh, braised lamb shoulder with saltbush, black squid ink rice and Cordoba olive oil ice cream to name just a few.

Accompanied by hundreds of stunning location shots by photographer Rob Palmer, Spice Journey is an authentic and inspiring experience.

SHANE DELIA is the star of the television show Shane Delia’s Spice Journey on SBS, which is currently in its third season. The series has aired in 135 countries across five continents. He is the chef and owner of his flagship restaurant Maha Restaurant and recently opened Biggie Small’s kebab shop, both in Melbourne. Maha has gone from strength to strength with The Age Good Food Guide awarding the restaurant one Chef Hat annually since 2009. Shane, his wife Maha, their daughter Jayda and son Jude live in Melbourne. Spice Journey is his second book.
